Born in Harbin, Heilongjiang, Gao Kai Yuan began to study painting since he was a child. His childhood dream was to do advertising and design, but later accidentally became an actor instead. Gao Kai Yuan studied at Beijing Film Academy. During his time at the school, he also appeared in dramas that were organised by the school. In addition, Gao Kai Yuan also participated in a lot of advertising/modelling works. In 2006, he then debuted in a youth movie called ‘Growing Palms’. He also starred in Cecilia Cheung’s anticipated drama debut ‘Love Won’t Wait’ in 2018 and historical drama ‘I Will Never Let You Go’ in 2019.
